Curaçao and Sint Maarten have a new currency, with a beautiful design that pays homage to the ocean life that buoys the two nations. Known as the “Caribbean Guilder,” the new currency replaces the Netherlands Antillean guilder (ANG). The Caribbean guilder was introduced into circulation on March 31, 2025. People who still have the old ANG bills or coins will be able to use them until June 30, 2025 at local businesses, although change will be given in the new currency.
