It wasn’t all that long ago that a young archer looked up to some of the best, most inspiring athletes in her sport. Now, that same archer is becoming the kind of pro she once idolized. That archer is Casey Kaufhold, a Conestoga Valley High School graduate who last summer competed at the highest level of archery possible: the Olympics. And this weekend, she was that professional who fans both old and young were clamoring to see.

Now trending: The Kutztown Cougars. Kutztown as a program has taken steps forward each season, and it hopes that in 202 the progress will start to translate into more wins. The Cougars enter the season after going 3-7 in 2023. However, Kutztown has been trending upward over the past few seasons and is led by a strong group of running backs on offense and a returning group of linebackers on defense. Offensively, the Cougars will run a Power T and they will not be shy about running the football.

On June 26, 2024, the U.S. Supreme Court held that 18 U.S.C. § 666(a)(1)(B), a federal law prohibiting state and local officials from accepting corrupt payments, does not make it a crime for those officials to accept rewards or gratuities, after the fact, for their prior official acts. The Court's holding narrows the reach of the statute while leaving state and local governments the task of regulating post-hoc rewards and gratuities paid to their officials.

TOP SHOOTERS RETURNING: The Mounts return three varsity shooters from last season, including Nathan Buehler, Brielle Weik and Riley Boley.
