PARK CITY, Utah (KUTV) — The murder trial of Kouri Richins has been indefinitely delayed following a Summit County judge’s decision to deny a change of venue request filed by the defense. During a hearing Monday in Utah’s Third District Court, Judge Richard Mrazik ruled against moving the trial out of Summit County, despite concerns about pre-trial publicity possibly impacting Richins’ ability to receive a fair trial.

A small brush fire broke out in the foothills behind the Huntsman Cancer Institute on the campus of the University of Utah. The fire started around 2 p.m. Monday near 1950 Circle of Hope Drive and close to the Jewish Community Center. Capt. Chad Jepperson with the Salt Lake City Fire Department said crews had a hard time finding the fire when they first arrived. Officers with the police department responded to the scene with their drones to help find the flames.
