SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A child has been rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an auto-pedestrian crash in Salt Lake. The incident happened near 350 East and Wilson Avenue (1750 South) in the Liberty Wells neighborhood, where there was a large police presence. Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department the crash involved a minor, but did not have details about exactly what happened. They said the child was sent to the hospital in critical condition.

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — President Donald Trump has pardoned Kentrell Gaulden, the rapper known as NBA YoungBoy. Gaulden was convicted on gun-related charges in Louisiana and pleaded guilty to being part of a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah. A White House official confirmed the pardon to the Associated Press Wednesday, on condition of anonymity. YoungBoy scheduled a concert tour starting September 2025 after his release from prison.

There have been no suspects arrested, no leads made public, and no answers to given to the public exactly two months after the homicide of a Utah County woman and her son. Officials with the Saratoga Springs Police Department have provided little information in the March 28 death of 8-year-old Eli Painter. Assistant Chief Bill Robertson released a statement Wednesday saying there was nothing new to pass along to the public.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (KUTV) — A Utah County family credited their smoke detector for alerting them to flames in their home and helping them to get out safely. The fire broke out around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at 2982 South Preening Way in Saratoga Springs. Deputy Fire Chief Kenny Johnson with the Saratoga Springs Fire Department said the fire started in the second floor. Family members called 911 emergency dispatchers after their smoke detectors went off and they discovered the flames.
