FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Soccorro Madrigal was sentenced in a Fresno county courtroom Friday for shooting and killing 21-year-old Brandon Catano back in 2021. It was a year where there were over 70 homicides across the city of Fresno. The sentencing comes after the known gang member took a plea deal.

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- A dream is now coming true for 7-year-old Joaquin and his mother, Gloria Moreno. Last December, he wrote a letter to Santa as part of Me-n-Ed's Santa Mailbox program. He wrote that his grandma went to heaven, and he wants to take his mom to Disneyland to make her happy. MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- Big boulders are blocking the road on both sides of Highway 140 in Mariposa County near Briceburg. The scenic sight is now covered with road closed signs and California Highway Patrol officers. FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Michael Gonzales pleaded not guilty to murder in a Fresno County courtroom Tuesday. Fresno police say in February, the known gang member stabbed his girlfriend, Angel Hoban to death. "Although he's a gang member, we don't think that this is gang-motivated. We believe that this is a domestic violence issue," said Fresno Police Lt. Paul Cervantes in a February press conference. Investigators say they have evidence they believe holds him accountable.
