    A group of talented youngsters have experienced a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity, after competing in an American cheerleading tournament. Fifteen lucky girls from Empire Elite AllStars club in Spalding, travelled to Orlando in Florida at the end of April, to represent the UK in the Prep Grand Nationals Championship. Following months of preparation and hard work, the level one ‘Rebels’ team – which is made up of youngsters aged seven to nine years old – came fourth place.

    A man has been arrested after a raid found illegal cigarettes in a shop that had already been forced to shut. Police say the 35-year-old was spotted by officers acting ‘suspiciously’ outside the Spalding European shop on Winsover Road on Friday (May 30). The store was forced to close in January as part of a clamp down on the sale of illegal cigarettes and vapes in the area.
