Officers said that three juveniles were in the vehicle that was headed west on Fuqua Street near Buffalo Speedway when the driver lost control of the SUV and hit a tree. Investigators said that the 14-year-old passenger died at the scene.

Investigators said that hotel security asked the man to leave but he later returned. Houston Police said the man was shot by another man at the hotel. According to police, the suspected gunman told officers that he shot the man out of self-defense and claimed the other man had made threats against him.
