The five-story building on High Street has been mostly vacant since the commissioners began paying Morris County to take Sussex prisoners in 2019. ANDOVER TOWNSHIP − With work on restoring the Roseville Tunnel nearing completion, the project to bring NJ Transit rail service into Sussex County now moves on to the walls of the rock-cut just east of where the Andover station will be built, according to the company's current plans. Other than communications work, including a new antenna, work at the tunnel is done. Next step will be assessing the stability of rock walls of a cut through another ledge between the tunnel and the planned station.

The park's free summer shuttle bus service is scheduled to resume on Saturday, May 24, and run on weekends through Labor Day. The shuttles, which include a trailer for boats and bikes, run every Saturday and Sunday but not on holidays such as Memorial Day, the Fourth of July or Labor Day.

Although traditional Memorial Day isn't until May 30, the recognized federal holiday this year falls on Monday, May 26, and one Sussex County municipality will be holding its annual parade on Saturday, May 24, the first of several local four parades for the solemn observance. That first parade will be Saturday in Hopatcong beginning at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park and lasting until Noon. The parade begins at Borough Hall and ends after marchers reach Veterans Field for a short ceremony.
