Morristown Police are investigating a reported robbery attempt Friday afternoon at the Bank of America on South Street. Believing a robbery was underway, a teller activated a silent alarm when a man behaving suspiciously presented an illegible note. The suspect then fled on foot toward Elm Street,  Morristown Public Safety Director Michael Corcoran Jr. told Morristown Green in a statement on Saturday. No weapons were displayed, and no threats were made during the incident, Corcoran said.
