At least one person was in custody after an incident Monday afternoon in the area of Howell Street and Rockingham Road, Davenport. Shortly before 2 p.m., the Our Quad Cities News crew saw two Rock Island squad cars head toward Davenport on the Centennial Bridge. Once our crew arrived, we saw technicians take prints from a Rock Island K9 Ford Explorer parked on the 200 block of South Howell Street.

A street in Moline was closed in one direction Wednesday as emergency crews responded to a crash. Southbound 27th Street was closed at Airport Road after a pickup and Ford Explorer crashed in the early afternoon. There is no update on what caused the crash or any injuries at this time. A Colona home appears to be a total loss after a fire on Thursday. The front end of the mobile home on Willowhaven Court was completely engulfed. Fire departments from Colona, Carbon Cliff/Barstow, Coal Valley and Silvis responded to the blaze, as well as Genesis Ambulance, Colorado PD and MidAmerican Energy. There were no immediate reports of injury, but two cats are unaccounted for. Firefighters on the scene of a Colona mobile home fire on December 5, 2024.

A firefighter who fell through the floor of a burning house was transported to a hospital Tuesday afternoon in Reynolds, Ill. Firefighters told Our Quad Cities News that a firefighter fell from the first floor to the basement while crews battled a blaze in a house on the 400 block of Lincoln Street. They said the firefighter was in stable condition and probably will be released from the hospital Tuesday night. (Bryan Bobb, OurQuadCities.com)The call about the fire came in about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
