Emergency crews responded to a fire in Colona on Tuesday morning. It started around 5:51 a.m. in the 500 block of 3rd Street. Fire was visible in front door and windows when officials arrived. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire and prevent the spread to two nearby houses, despite the wind. One occupant was unaccounted for, but neighbors don’t believe he was home. The state fire marshal is investigating, and yellow tape was put up around the house.
