TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Holton man is suing a Jackson County detective who prompted a search on his property as part of a missing persons and homicide investigation. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation led a search on the Rex Larrison Body Shop last April seeking evidence of Yulia or Elena Larrison. Yulia has been missing since 2001, while Elena died in 2006. Both were Russian immigrants who were married to Rex Larrison.

PERRY, Kan. (WIBW) - A major system leak has led to a boil advisory for the City of Perry. Jefferson County Emergency Management says the leak was a result of a broken main, occurring around 4 p.m. Tuesday. There’s no estimate currently for when repairs will be done. TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - One fourth grader’s hands-on civic lesson has made the walk to school safer for her and her peers. Randolph Elementary’s Eliza Schmidt got the ball rolling when she reached out to the Topeka City Council about making the crossing at 15th and MacVicar safer for kids trying to get to school. “It makes me proud that people having to cross that street are finally able to be safe and cross by themselves,” Schmidt said.
