HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Dustin Connell won his third world title in five years Sunday on Lake Guntersville by netting his third Redcrest Bass Fishing Championship. Redcrest is the tour championship event for the various Major League Fishing circuits. There have only been six. Connell has won half of them so far.

Wes Wright, the elk program coordinator for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, gave the commission a "State of the Elk" presentation March 19 at the commission's monthly work meeting. The 2024 public land elk seasons were held Oct. 7-11 and Oct. 28-Nov. 1. The commission issued 18 permits.

Opening day of Arkansas Modern Gun Deer Season is slow. Not much happening.

The Big Bass Bonanza on the Arkansas Ruver June 26-28 has been cancelled. Details in tomorrow’s Arkansas Demi-Gazette.

On a 5-2 vote, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will require all waterfowl hunters to be off the water by noon at Bayou Meto and Black River Dave Donaldson Black River WMAs for the 2020-21 waterfowl seasons.
