There’s lots going on this weekend: a carnival, a movie screening, some music and some dancing. And the Linda Plaut festival kicks off another season of performances on Saturday. The best thing about this week of gloomy, rainy existence is that mothers everywhere will be gifted a sudden sunny celebration on Mother’s Day. After some rain off and on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures staying cool and raw, Sunday is set to bring a 70-degree sunny rebirth of sorts, to pair perfvectly with brunch and flowers. Meanwhile, there are a few concerts to check out in Newton as well as an activities event for kids at the West Suburban YMCA.
