SALT LAKE CITY — Construction on a major three-year expansion of Provo Airport began Monday with a ceremonial groundbreaking at the facility that one official said is “desperately” in need of an update. The existing airport has come a long way since the early 1940s, when an airstrip was built at the request of the military, according to the airport’s website. Commercial service began in 2005 and was expanded with a new terminal in 2022.

Family, friends, current members of Utah’s congressional delegation, and former politicians gathered for Love’s memorial service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Institute of Religion at the University of Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY — A crowd of mourners filled the capitol rotunda Sunday to pay their respects to former Utah Congresswoman Mia Love’s family. A laying-in-state service was held for the former representative. People who stood in the long line to pay their respects smiled and teared up reflecting on Mia Love’s contributions to their lives, and the lives of Utahns. “She’s an amazing example of perseverance to me,” said friend DeLaina Tonks.
