In the largest deal in Hollywood to close this year, a 116,000-square-foot building that is home to Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand Skims Body Inc. has sold for $105 million. Located along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, at 1601 Vine St., the eight-story Class A office building was 100% leased to Skims at the time of sale. The buyer was Nevada-based private equity firm Kingsbarn Realty Capital.

Corinthia Group Buys Two Hotels

Malta-based international hotel owner and investment firm Corinthia Group, in recent partnership with Kuwait-based shareholding closed company Action Real Estate Co., has acquired two boutique hotel properties in Beverly Hills totaling just under 100 keys. The hotels, Maison 140 and Mosaic Hotel, sit one block opposite one another in Beverly Hills, on Lasky Drive and Spaulding Avenue, respectively.
Industrial Land Sells For $28 Million

Dallas-based Baranof Holdings, a developer and asset manager of self-storage facilities, has purchased a 1.29-acre industrial land site in Hollywood for $28 million in order to pave way for a new Los Angeles self-storage facility. The transaction marks the largest land sale in Hollywood during the first quarter of the year.

A 257-unit apartment complex in Rancho Palos Verdes sold for $127 million. The building, going by the name Highridge Apartments, was purchased by Irvine-based private equity firm The Bascom Group. The deal comes out to roughly $494,000 per unit. Built in 1972, Highridge Apartments has undergone significant upgrades over the years, including installing new in-unit washers and dryers and enhanced amenities to each unit.
LACCD to Add Student Housing

The Los Angeles Community College District has moved forward in a major effort to address Los Angeles’ student housing crisis after two of three requests for proposals were recently released. “It is no secret that we are going through a housing crisis here in California, as well as an affordability crisis just across the state,” Sara Hernandez, vice president of the board of trustees at LACCD, said.
Altadena Development Site Listed

One of the first approved multifamily development projects to hit the market in Altadena since the Eaton fire devoured more than 6,000 homes earlier this year has been listed by Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty. The project, at 2214 N. Windsor Ave., is a fully permitted 54-unit, mixed-use residential land site being marketed at $6.25 million.
RWBID Merges with NY-Based Firm

Local construction management and advisory firm RWBID has merged with New York-based international construction consultancy Cumming Group. RWBID, established in 2010 and based in Hermosa Beach, specializes in projects relating to the civic justice, public safety, health care, recreation, library and education sectors. “We are excited to join the industry-leading team at Cumming Group,” Matthew Feldhaus, RWBID’s president and founder, said in a statement.
