Quabbin girls tennis represents as a team this week for their sweep against GardnerLast week, readers voted Mya MacKay of Narragansett softball the Athlete of the Week. The sophomore collected 10,631 votes on the poll, totaling 58.35%. She earned her spot on the poll for her performance against Gardner. MacKay went 4-for-5, including a three-run homer to help earn the 14-13 win.

Quabbin Regional High School has appointed Mike Besaw as its new head football coach. Besaw, who served as the defensive coordinator for the past two seasons, has 35 years of coaching experience. He replaces Wayne Page, who left Quabbin to coach at Grafton High School. Quabbin athletic director Mark Miville announced in an email on Wednesday that Mike Besaw has been named the Panthers' new head football coach.
