People living in what are meant to be RV spots for visitors, are asking Woodland leaders to let them stay there longterm in light of the area’s rising rent and housing shortage. At a recent Woodland City Council workshop, councilmembers empathized with those living at Woodland Shores RV Park past the city’s roughly two-month limit, because they said the site is well maintained.

LONGVIEW — The remaining heavy industrial site at the Port of Woodland’s Columbia River property has been leased, following more than six decades of the port not offering deepwater access. The port signed an 80-year lease last week with California-based Granite Construction for Martin Bar South. The agreement comes roughly two months after the a lease was signed with Oregon-based Wilsonville Concrete Products for 15 acres at Martin Bar North.

Jun. 12-A new 85-lot subdivision of single-family residences is being planned for construction along the Lewis River in Woodland. The site, located at 1920 Lewis River Rd., was previously approved for apartment housing, but the developer, Timberland Inc., changed its proposal to subdivide and build single-family homes. The subdivision is planned to be built just east of Insel Road. Woodland is holding a public hearing on the proposed project on Aug.
