They say they love their community and they're willing to fight for it. On Thursday night, dozens of Saddleridge residents gathered in a known trouble spot, the Savanna Bazaar strip mall, plagued by social disorder, especially at night. There are noisy cars, partying, open liquor and according to some, even drugs. "We're tired of all the racing and the drugs that are happening in this area," said Michael, an area resident.

A warning from a concerned parent after multiple frighteningly close encounters with a cougar on an acreage just southwest of the city on Tuesday. Only a glass door separated Jessica Low and her young daughter from a cougar that had just killed one of their barn cats. Low says the wildcat, believed to be less than two years old, hissed and seethed, looking directly at the child who only moments before sat down in sight of the door to have her lunch.

He's an angel on four wheels, collecting and delivering food, clothing and the basics to Calgary's less fortunate, but now, Randy Cotterhill is in a bind of his own and could use some divine help. "I'm in dire need of a new vehicle," the Angels in Action founder said. Cotterhill's van is on its final rotation. But that didn't stop him from picking up bread donated at a local business on Tuesday night. That bread will be used to make sandwiches to feed the homeless.
