The Carlisle School golf team heads to Williamsburg on Monday to compete in the VISAA Division III state championship. The Chiefs are 6-2 this season and ranked No. 1 in the state. They’re looking to best a third place finish at the state finals last year. The championship will be held at the Yorktown Course of Williamsburg National Golf Club. Monday will be the final high school match for the Chiefs five seniors.

Christopher Bell won three straight NASCAR Cup Series races earlier this season, and while he wasn't able to make it four in a row, he'll be going for another four-peat this Sunday at Kansas Speedway. Bell has won the pole for the last three Cup Series races at Kansas. If he were to win qualifying again on Saturday, he would become the first driver to win four in a row at Kansas, and the first to win four straight poles at a single track since Kyle Larson won at Sonoma Raceway from 2017-2022.

With a 3-2 extra innings loss to Surry Community College in the championship game of the Region 10 tournament, the Patrick & Henry Community College softball team will now have to wait for an at-large bid into the NJCAA DIII national championship tournament. It took nearly 50 hours for Surry to secure the region title.
