A Norwalk woman tells News 12 she was almost scammed by two people who posed as police officers and told her she owned money for missing jury duty. Shawna Daniels says she received a call on Saturday from two men who told her they worked for Norwalk police and that she was facing two fines. "The first one was failure to appear and with that it was a fine of $1,350. The second one was contempt of court and I owned a fine of $1,250," says Daniels.

A message on a Facebook group looking for some likeminded friends sparked a group of women to come together in a Hanukkah celebration. Charlene Zeiberg saw a Facebook post on Jewish Westport, the group started during the pandemic by Erika Brunwasser, and has since brought unity to women in the community. “I suggested maybe having a Hannukah potluck, and I volunteered my home. I thought maybe I could have 30 to 40 people,” said Zeiberg.

It is Older Driver Safety Awareness Week and the Connecticut Department of Transportation is reminding people to talk to older drivers they know and make sure they feel confident and safe behind the wheel. In 2021, 17% of all roadway deaths nationwide involved someone over the age of 65. Those numbers are going up, according to the DOT. "For the older people and the teenagers, I think everyone should be a little more careful," said Jackie McKay, of Darien.

Police say a Greenwich pharmacy is the most recent pharmacy to get broken into following an uptick in break-ins throughout the state. The break-in at North Street Pharmacy was captured on camera. News 12 spoke to the owner and learned that this was not the first time their pharmacy had been broken into. Sonali Costa has been the owner of the independent family-friendly pharmacy for 11 years. "They just smashed it. Just walked right in. The alarms were blaring, they didn't care," Costa said.

The man suspected of killing 18 people in Lewiston, Maine is still at large. Officials say all the victims have been identified -- they range in ages from 14 to 76 years old. Many people are staying inside as the manhunt continues for the 40-year-old Richard Card, from Bowdoin, Maine. Card, a U.S. Army reservist, is accused of fatally shooting 18 people at a bowling alley and a bar -- both down the road from Bates College.
