JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A total of 44 cats and dogs were adopted during Winn-Dixie’s Memorial Day Weekend adoption event at The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS), Samantha Ahnen, the Community Engagement Manager at JHS, told News4JAX on Monday. During the event, hosted on May 24, more than 100 dogs and cats were available for adoption, including some whose adoption fees were waived. The adoption event took place at the JHS Adoption and Education Center located at 8464 Beach Boulevard.
