On this day 40 years ago, David Tate shot two Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers. Jimmie Linegar was killed, while Allen Hines survived. This sparked a massive manhunt on April 15, 1985. By April 20, Tate was captured. In 1986, KOLR 10 interviewed Tate while he was in prison. He mentioned how he despises uniformed officers and mentioned in length how he is a racial separatist. He’s currently serving two life sentences plus 13 years.
