LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced a new initiative by his office on Wednesday to combat financial fraud. The AG said his office was forming a financial fraud task force to take a new approach to fighting financial fraud. Griffin gave the example of predatory messages about overdue toll fees, jury fees or banking requests attempting to trick someone into sending money. The task force involves several groups to address the problem.

SPRINGFIELD–This week’s Athlete of the Week is Sebastian Norman. Norman, is a senior on the Glendale High School baseball team. Earlier this week, the Oklahoma State commit powered the Falcons to a 4-3 victory against Branson. He tattooed a home run to center field, scored twice, and picked up a save in relief. In the last two years, Norman’s been key piece of the Falcons success–winning 25 or more games each season, and back-to-back district titles in Class 6.

After off-and-on rainfall for most of Saturday, we’ll need to get through two more waves of thunderstorms in the next 24 hours. The first arrives tonight. Thunderstorms currently in Oklahoma and Kansas will cross into our area overnight. Expect to hear rumbles of thunder and pouring rain after midnight. Thankfully, the risk for severe weather tonight is relatively low. A morning lull is expected Sunday, and we might even see some sunshine.

A tornado warning was issued Friday night for parts of Christian, Greene, and Webster counties as a bowing line segment showed radar indicated signs of rotation. Look at this jaw-dropping video of the cloud base lowering in Webster County taken by the local Fire Protection District. At this time, I am thankfully not hearing any reports of damage caused by these thunderstorms.
