    ELKTON — It took a Cecil County Circuit Court jury about 90 minutes of deliberation Friday (May 2) to find a man guilty of all 33 charges against him — including two counts each of first-degree murder, armed robbery and home invasion — in the fatal shootings of a woman and her boyfriend inside an abandoned house near North East in July 2023. The defendant — Jordan Patrick Perry, 28, of Elkton — is facing up to three life sentences and a significant number of additional years.

    COLORA — An investigation is continuing after a blaze caused an estimated $750,000 in damage to a Colora home, displacing its four residents, according to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal. One of the occupants called 911 at 3:54 p.m. on Wednesday (April 30), after discovering the fire at the residence in the unit block of Canterbury Court, prompting area volunteer fire companies to respond, fire officials said.
