Earlier this month, Quebec conducted a new census of its homeless population. While the figures are not yet available, it’s estimated that the number has already risen by 15 per cent since last year.

Former Love Island Quebec contestant Skye-Zaiah Senecal says she had just moved into an apartment in Longueuil on Montreal’s South Shore when the unthinkable happened. She says she left for work at 8 a.m. on Monday, when someone broke in, ransacked her home and made off with some personal items. One item, however, was more valuable than others: her pug, Travis.

Gatineau-based Lucie Lachance is coming to Montreal next month to swap jerseys with one of her idols, Montreal Canadiens player Brendan Gallagher. The trade came about after Lachance reached out to Gallagher on X, offering him a purple and white Hockey Fights Cancer jersey that the Habs forward wore at the Bell Centre in 2022. On the jersey’s “I Fight For” label, Gallagher had written the word “Mom” in tribute to his mother.

In his forty-one years as a volunteer firefighter, Neil Swail had never had to perform a water rescue on land. That changed on Friday when torrential rains poured over Southern Quebec. Swail, the Director of Public Security for the town of Harrington, located northwest of Montreal, said that they received a call about a couple trapped in a vehicle on White Road.
