A 29-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death in connection with a collision that killed a teen boy near a park in Montreal’s Cartierville neighbourhood. On June 24, 2024, 14-year-old Al Housseini Diacko was heading home on the new e-scooter he just got for his birthday when he was hit by a vehicle on Lachapelle Street near Park Mésy. He later died in the hospital.

The national advocacy group Obesity Matters is hoping the Quebec government changes direction and recognizes obesity as a chronic disease. The group recently formed the Quebec chapter - “Parlons Obésité” – and was at the National Assembly in Quebec City to make the case for share a report along with recommendations to improve care for those in the province living with obesity.

Montreal police (SPVM) arrested three men who are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the Feb. 2 shooting death of a man, 55, in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (NDG) neighbourhood. Montrealers Dariush Kabirinaeini, 22, Bryan Moreau-Gignac, 26, and Samuel Jourdain Cody, 35, of Quebec City, were located in Baie-Comeau, Quebec City and Montreal on Thursday and are expected in court on Friday.
