The past few years have brought a series of catchy phrases that try to put a hipster spin on working for yourself: the creator economy, the influencer economy, the freelance life. Over the past decade, I've transitioned from a career as a full-time freelancer to someone who had built what I like to describe as "the spoke life." It's a central skill, with a number of jobs and opportunities built around and connected to that hub like the spokes of a big wheel.

Huntingdon’s softball team hosted their annual tournament on Saturday to visiting Williamsburg and Hollidaysburg. Weather and other implications have halted this tournament numerous times since its launch in 1991. Huntingdon had a chance to clinch the fourth seed in the District Six 3A playoff bracket Wednesday night as they welcomed Central Mountain into town. Although the Bearcats struggled at the free-throw line throughout the evening, they sank the ones that mattered most to seal the 53-51 victory and solidify their seeding. “We forced key turnovers, executed our quick-hitting plays, and knocked down our threes tonight which really propelled us to this win,” commented Huntingdon head coach Eric Troup.
