On East Vandalia Road, it's not uncommon to see cars, bicycles and pedestrians all sharing the busy thoroughfare. Greensboro city leaders said they hope to change that as soon as possible. “Making it safer for all and accessible for all, that’s a good deed," Steven Gordon said.

GREENBSORO, N.C. — A significant symbol of Greensboro's growth is officially under construction. On Monday, developers began construction on the AC Marriott Hotel downtown. It's the first part of the Carroll at Parkside project. The development, led by The Carroll Companies, has been in the planning phase for years. Once it's done, it will include more than 150 hotel rooms, a rooftop bar and restaurant, nearly 350 apartments and space for retail shops and commercial use.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Charges are pending for a woman who allegedly attacked and stabbed another woman while she was holding a toddler, according to the Lexington Police Department. Officers said on Thursday around 2 p.m., they were dispatched to an assault call involving a stabbing in the 200 block of Raeford Avenue. When they arrived, police said they found a 26-year-old woman who had been stabbed in the face and head multiple times.

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A Piedmont Triad man is facing several sexual exploitation charges following a lengthy investigation by the Invictus Task Force. In November 2024, members of the Invictus Task Force initiated an investigation after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. During the investigation, officials said 58-year-old Raymond Wargo Jr. was identified as the suspect. In March, a search warrant was executed, and Wargo was arrested on Friday.
