Not long after I started at Our State, I took a day-long, 402 mile road trip through Eastern North Carolina, mostly because I hadnβt been out there too much and wanted to see a lot in a short amount of time.

One of the things I struggle withβeven though I havenβt worked in local TV news for a decadeβis a constant desire to vacuum up information. Back then, I needed to pay attention to everything that happened everywhere because I had fill a daily newscast with interesting stories. I also wanted to sound smart in pitch meetings.

Some context here. I am 45 years old.

In non-pope news, the Duck-Rabbit brewery has closed, and I had many thoughts about it: https://t.co/NwBMZt5jOH

A short story about writing on bathroom walls, the effects of being too online, and there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos, it'll be a home run, and so that'll make it a 4β0 ballgame. https://t.co/yCkZmqKauJ

RT @deftlyinane: Last month, I saw a Redditor ask where he could dig a big hole in Durham. I suggested he go up to an emerald mine in Hiddeβ¦
