My family and I have not stepped inside a zoo for many years, but when we had a collective slice of time last Saturday morning, we headed to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park to take a safari excursion and get a peek at the park’s new features. For years, I dreamed of working from home, eschewing L.A. traffic and carving out more quality time with family. In 2020, that dream became a reality because of a nightmare: the pandemic. But even when much of the world went back to office work, my publishers made our remote status long-term. We’re almost halfway through the year, and what a century 2025 has already been. In a playful blitz of fitness and fun, the Los Angeles Rams teamed up with Dr. Bill Releford, owner of Bloom Ranch in Acton to tackle childhood wellness head-on at Tarzana Elementary School. The early December NFL PLAY 60 event wasn’t just about burning calories; it was a full-field press on the importance of nutrition and exercise in young lives. As students ran, jumped and laughed their way through various activities, they were also planting the seeds for lifelong healthy habits.
