The mother of a boy who was behind the wheel of a stolen car that crashed into a tree admits her son made a bad decision but did not deserve to die. Nick Crick and his best friend were killed when the stolen Toyota they were travelling in smashed into a tree on Kelletts R, Rowville, in Melbourne’s southeast, about 2.35am on Sunday. Speaking exclusively with 7NEWS, Sarah Crick said her “beautiful boy” Nick got caught up in the wrong crowd.

A Melbourne car bombing that killed a businessman has remained as one of Australia’s most baffling unsolved cold cases. Almost three decades ago, dynamite was strapped to John Furlan’s Subaru and detonated while he was driving along Lorensen Ave in Coburg North. The father of a young woman killed when she was struck by a car at a rave in Melbourne last year has spoken publicly about his “compassionate, fun-loving” daughter for the first time. Elise Hodder, 24, was celebrating her friend’s birthday in Kooyong in October when she was struck and killed by a man allegedly drunk and high on drugs. Hodder was dragged under the car while her friend, 26, was also struck and seriously injured.
