Officers found a man near his bicycle unconscious on the shoulder on FM-517 and Avenue N at about 3:30 p.m. Friday. The victim Glen Davis, 66, from San Leon, was found to have sustained a gunshot wound and died at a hospital. Davis was well-known in the San Leon and Bacliff communities.

The city said the bacteria was found during a water test on Thursday, May 8. It said the bacteria can pose a risk to infants, children and people with weakened immune systems. Deputies said a driver lost control of a pickup truck, hit a barrier wall and it caught fire on the Eastex Freeway at Green Street at about 10 p.m. Friday. The passenger died on the scene. Their identity had not been released. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Deputy hits, kills man after chase in northeast Harris County

HOUSTON – A high-speed chase in northeast Harris County ended when investigators said a deputy hit and killed a man. Investigators said they first tried to stop the man for speeding on Beltway 8 North at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday. Instead, they said he led them on a chase, reaching speeds of up to 120 miles per hour. Investigators said he lost control and crashed into some trees. They said he tried to run away on foot, and because of muddy conditions, a deputy couldn’t stop, hit and killed him.

HOUSTON – A man could face intoxication manslaughter charges after a deadly crash in northeast Houston. Police said a man was asleep and stopped in the middle of Ley Road and Roundhouse Lane just before 1 a.m. Sunday. Investigators said a motorcyclist swerved to avoid hitting the man’s SUV. The motorcyclist and their passenger were thrown from the bike. The passenger died at the scene. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital and was expected to recover.
