PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — A woman died, six others were rescued, and four more remain missing after a boat believed to be involved in an illegal voyage possibly linked to human trafficking capsized Saturday in the waters between Sitio Matangguli and Canibungan Island in Balabac, Palawan. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Substation in South Western Palawan said the deceased was a woman from Cavite.

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — A blast rocked a well-known fast food chain in this city Saturday morning, sending three persons, believed to be its employees, to the hospital for medical attention. The incident happened to Jollibee, located along Valencia and Malvar Streets in Puerto Princesa City, shortly before 7 a.m., on 7 June. Witnesses said two employees were seen with visible injuries and burns on various parts of their bodies.

In response to Board Member Ariston Arzaga’s allegations about service disconnection practices, Palawan’s power cooperative has denied cutting off electricity before specified dates and clarified that they strictly adhere to procedures in accordance with Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) guidelines. Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO) stated Tuesday that they don’t cut off services before the dates on the disconnection notices.
