Tout le monde s’accorde pour dire que la recherche d’emploi n’est jamais simple. Cette expérience peut s’avérer d’autant plus difficile pour les personnes immigrantes qui ont un accent. Un accent peut souvent avoir une incidence sur la façon dont les autres nous perçoivent et nous jugent. Même si l’on maîtrise une langue seconde, le fait d’avoir un accent considéré comme « étranger » peut encore donner l’impression d’être une barrière.

Introduction People's ability to assess their own skills has interested researchers for decades, including those in the fields of second language (L2) learning and testing. Similarly to other domains, L2 users seem to be unaware of their language skills and to engage in flawed self-assessment behavior, such that people's self-assessments differs considerably from external measures of performance (most frequently operationalized as listener-based assessments and referred to as other-assessment).
