Forget a single academic course over one semester. Let's go ahead and expand this to a Bachelor of Arts Degree, shall we? Some college students at Indiana University in Bloomington are currently enrolled in a class about country music legend, pop culture icon and all-around perfect human being, Dolly Parton. The course is called The Anthropology of Dolly Parton and it's being taught by Dr. Sarah Phillips. According to Bloom Magazine, there are 60 students participating in the class.

There are a lot of hamburger joints across the U.S. that have random (and weird) claims to fame. For example, two restaurants in Memphis come to mind. First, there's Huey's. Each Huey's location has a crutch in the ceiling. That tradition goes all the way back to 1988. That's when the restaurant's owner, Thomas Boggs, got a crutch from a friend and used it to fill a hole in the ceiling at the Midtown location. Now, every single Huey's location has its own crutch.

Last week's heavy rains caused major flooding issues around western Kentucky. For instance, Monday night, the rising Ohio River started to spill over into Smothers Park in downtown Owensboro. Not only are there issues in Daviess County, there is historic flooding in nearby McLean County (where the National Guard has been called in to assist), Ohio County, Hancock County, Hopkins County, and in Butler County. If you haven't seen the footage from Butler County, it's devastating.

Over the weekend, I was watching severe weather coverage on The Weather Channel. In particular, the meteorologists were monitoring a storm that was barreling toward Little Rock, Arkansas. On the graphic, just off the south and west, was the word "Kentucky." Now, I'm a Kentucky (the state, not the town) native and, until I saw that map, I had no idea there was a Kentucky, Arkansas.

There's nothing better in Spring than a fresh and crisp salad. Patty Millay, from Owensboro, KY, has whipped up a delicious salad recipe that will be a hit at any luncheon, dinner or picnic you decide to host. It's a sweet take on a broccoli salad that will have you asking, "How about them apples??!"From Patty:I'm always looking for something new for a family occasion and with Easter is right around the corner, I was on the hunt.
