Chris Conley, an incredibly well-known local veteran and community servant, received confirmation this week that he has brain tumor. That news was publicly shared Wednesday morning by his stepdaughter, Tristan Taylor. It has been a crazy couple of days and we have gotten too much, yet not enough info to even begin. Friday we found out that my step dad, Chris, has a large brain tumor.

June 6th marks the 81st anniversary of D-Day. It was June 6th of 1944 that an army of U.S., British and Canadian troops launched an attack on German-occupied Western Europe. That orchestrated attack was given the name Operation Overlord. Adolph Hitler had established what he referred to as the Atlantic Wall. Roughly 135,000 troops stormed five beaches that day to begin to break through it.
