HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An elderly couple from Saint Charles was saved from their home on Monday due to rising floodwaters, thanks to the St. Charles Fire Department. Officials posted to social media that crews were blocking roadways on June 16 due to flash flooding on St. Charles Road and Railroad Street when the call came in at 8:53 p.m.Crews were on the scene a minute later and were able to quickly get the couple out. The couple was not injured.

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Henderson County officials are urging people to stop illegally dumping trash. Judge Executive Brad Schneider says they’ve seen a lot of illegal dumping after reopening Green River Road #1. He says since the road reopened after a washout, it’s been a constant problem. He also says the trash is an eyesore, a health hazard and it takes away valuable resources because crews have to keep cleaning it up.
