The new e-208 GTi is tipped to use the same powertrain as the closely related Abarth 600e, which is based on the same e-CMP platform. The high-riding Italian hot hatch gets a 237bhp motor mounted up front with a Torsen limited-slip differential, and tout a 0-62mph sprint time of 6.2sec. It’s possible that a lighter and lower-set e-208 equipped with the same powertrain could cut that to below 6.0sec.

Hyundai has confirmed its new Ioniq 6 N performance saloon will be revealed at Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. Alongside the announcement, it has released new images of the hot saloon, showing its twin rear spoilers and a chunky diffuser that draws on that fitted to the extreme RN22e concept car. Although not fully shown, the front end of the new Ioniq 6 N draws on the sporty new N Line variant of the standard Ioniq 6, which was updated earlier this year.

The Lotus Emira has been updated with a series of refinements that promise to bring both a more engaging drive and greater levels of comfort. The Emira V6 SE (priced from £96,500) gets retuned dampers and new alignment settings that are said to improve both its ride and handling. Its manual gearbox also gets new mounts that are intended to improve the precision of gearchanges. Autocar previously found it prone to hesitation when slotting the gearlever into higher ratios when rushing a shift.

Almost everything that could have gone wrong this week, did. Except for the car. The car is brilliant. A little slice of sanctuary. https://t.co/iMt2mI35VR

Another day, another parking ticket from the morons at UK CPM, despite displaying a 24hr guest permit. Utterly embarrassed by their predatory behaviour

Still loving the MX-5 life. Need to do something about the pollen matted into the roof, but it otherwise cleans up fantastically. Family all head over heels for it too, now! https://t.co/MPNc1lZMkP
