Wellness has become a category that is known for inciting fear. A multitude of TikTok experts and Instagram influencers peddle non-toxic this and non-toxic that, while brands in the wellness world tell you what’s not in their product versus what is. A couple of years ago, I wrote an article for Elle Magazine about getting off ADHD medication. I documented my journey of working with a nutritionist to help remove the meds from my routine.

We got a head start on the holidays this year. Our tree was put up and lit the first week of November, and fully decorated the week before Thanksgiving. We’ve already watched The Christmas Prince and Princess Switch trilogies (my kids inexplicably love them), along with both Home Alone films. I’ve probably watched 8 more films on my own - all Hallmark, naturally. My favorite was Christmas With The Singhs. It’s my our thing.

I started using Threads last fall and found (at least in the beginning) that it was a nice space. The algorithm was a bit better at bringing like-minded together, and many that fled Twitter found a place to be themselves again. And then swiftly (though perhaps not entirely disconnected from X’s recent and large outage), the “For You” default homepage morphed, becoming rife with long-haired white women posting endless scrolls about how health was a choice (see below).
