HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Some residents in southwest Houston woke up to a fire at their apartment complex Friday morning. The Houston Fire Department said the fire started just after 6 a.m. near Sandpiper and Fondmeadow. The department said a total of eight units were impacted, though the fire was contained to one building. HFD Dist. Chief Tony Brown said seven of the eight units were occupied, but thankfully, no one was injured.

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A heavy police presence was spotted near the Creepy Hollow Haunted House in Brazoria County on Thursday morning. The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office said they are investigating a shooting that involved deputies along the Highway 288 feeder road near Rosharon. SkyEye was positioned above the busy scene, where multiple law enforcement officers with emergency lights were stationed along the southbound feeder.

PASADENA, Texas (KTRK) -- The Pasadena Police Department is investigating after they say a 19-year-old was shot and killed at an apartment complex overnight. Authorities said officers responded to reports of gunfire at about 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Shaver Street. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound from what they say was a drive-by shooting. Police said he died at the hospital.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his long-term girlfriend in southeast Houston, according to police. The Houston Police Department said a SWAT team found the victim's body in an apartment on McHenry, near Telephone Road and the Loop. The Houston Police Department told Eyewitness News the suspect was wanted for shooting a man in the parking lot around the same time Tuesday night. That victim is expected to survive.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is expanding its road rage crackdown to Highway 288 and Interstate 610, following the success of similar operations on Interstate 45 and Highway 59. Houston Mayor John Whitmire made the announcement on social media Monday night. "We want everybody to know that we take road rage, speeding, and DWI very serious and we've listened to Houstonians," Whitmire said.
