Photo by Jason Miller/Getty Images As the Toronto Raptors headed into Cleveland today for a game against the Cavaliers... expectations were low. The 8-29 Raptors lost against the Knicks in New York just last night, and the Cavaliers are the best offence in the NBA. They dominate the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 32-4. The Cavs also won a huge game against OKC last night, so confidence was nice and high.

Photo by Kevin Sousa/Getty Images What a Toronto Raptors season we are having. The 8-28 Raptors sit 14th in the Eastern Conference, above only the 6-28 Washington Wizards. Another highlight of this week was finally getting to see the Raptors core play together.

There is a lot about this current Toronto Raptors team that is untested and inexperienced. I hold no judgement though, as the same could be said about me. I relate to the young Raptors a lot, as someone who was thrust into the NBA as a young writer and has been finding my way ever since. I’m not immune to the nerves that come from interviewing these very important, very tall players.

Photo by Mark Blinch/Getty Images It’s a cold Friday night at Scotiabank Arena. The Toronto Raptors are playing the Orlando Magic. I am wearing my new green sweater that I bought on sale for Boxing Day. As the Magic quickly gain a 10-point lead on the Raptors, the thought of another blog post where I try to find positives in Raptors loss becomes wearisome to my still-on-holiday brain.
