The Arlington Police Department is getting ready to show off the newest addition to its "Game Up 5-0" program. The department's gaming trailer will power up for the first time during its "Cooking with Cops" event Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Vandergriff Park. This mobile gaming center has Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation gaming consoles, a racing simulator, and a virtual reality station.

The wildfires that tore through tht Texas Panhandle earlier this year caused $123 million in agricultural losses, according to Texas A&M AgriLife. Three people and more than 12,000 cattle died when the Smokehouse Creek Fire, the state's largest-ever wildfire, the Windy Deuce Fire and other blazes swept through the area in late February. The fires weren't fully contained until mid-March.

It's estimated that tens of thousands of cows have died in the Panhandle wildfires. While some people don't think this will have a big impact on meat prices at the grocery store, others like Dr. Rick Avery with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service say it will. "I think it's safe to say that they'll go up," Dr. Avery says. "The price of beef is already... is at a pretty high level.

While the massive wildfires in the Texas Panhandle aren't growing as rapidly as they were earlier in the week, they're still untamed and threatening more death and destruction. The Associated Press is reporting an 83-year-old woman died, but authorities have yet to conduct a thorough search for victims. The Smokehouse Creek Fire in the Texas Panhandle is now the largest in Texas history at 1,075,000 acres. That's almost 1,700 square miles. (That's bigger than Rhode Island.) It's only 3% contained.
