New app aims to help teach Oklahoma City's Black history

Saturday, Feb. 1 marks the start of Black History Month.It's a time to educate and celebrate the achievements of Black Americans in the past and present. Soon, there will be an app to help you do that in Oklahoma. Oklahoma Black Living Legacy designed the "Black Tour" app to teach you about Oklahoma City's Black history. The founder of the organization talked about the new learning tool.

People in Lincoln County are being told to stay inside as they search for a homicide suspect. The manhunt is in the area of county road 990 and 3350 road. Lincoln County sheriff's deputies say to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement immediately.They are asking everyone to avoid the search area and keep doors locked and stay inside of you are nearby.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a marijuana grow in Grady County. The grow is just southwest of Ninnekah. Law enforcement officers are searching for seven armed suspects wearing all black. The sheriff there says marijuana was taken from the facility. Police are chasing after a pursuit suspect who ditched his car outside the Quail Springs Mall in Oklahoma City. Friday afternoon, the suspect led police on a chase through the metro when he eventually stopped at the mall, got out of the car and ran inside. No word yet if police have caught that suspect, but the area is surrounded by officers.KOCO has a crew headed to the scene to learn more.

One person is dead after a crash in Midwest City Thursday night. The Midwest City police chief told KOCO 5 that an eastbound vehicle crossed over into the westbound lane and hit a vehicle on the shoulder. The driver of that car was ejected and later died at a local hospital. The two passengers in the car on the shoulder were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A cause is still being investigated.
