OKLAHOMA CITY – Cydney Sanders rounded third base and put two fingers in the air in celebration. The senior first baseman had hit her second home run of the day against Oregon's ace, which gave Oklahoma a comfortable lead in their Women's College World Series matchup. Sanders turned in her best offensive performance of the season to lift Oklahoma to a 4-1 win over Oregon on Sunday night at Devon Park. Oklahoma has now won nine straight elimination games at the WCWS.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma is headed to the loser's bracket. Oklahoma had won the last 12 against Texas in Oklahoma City since 2009. The Sooners have won six consecutive games against the Longhorns, including a sweep of the three-game series in Norman, Oklahoma and in three postseason games last year which included the Big 12 Championship Game and the Women's College World Series Championship Series last year. But the Longhorn finally broke through on Saturday.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma head coach Patty Gasso knew Karlyn Pickens was going to be a challenge. "It's just about who's going to be better, and that's what it comes down to," Gasso said on Wednesday. The biggest challenge came from hard throwing Karlyn Pickens and she had been dominant all game throwing over 120 pitches to stifle OU's offense. But Ella Parker was just better at the moment.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Patty Gasso sat with the OU coaching staff and observed the film heavily. Back in March, Oklahoma and Tennessee battled it out at Love's Field, where the Volunteers ultimately got the best of the Sooners in the series. As Gasso looked over the film, she could tell how far Oklahoma has grown since then. Now, Gasso will have the chance to prove it as No. 2 Oklahoma is set to take on No. 7 Tennessee at 1:30 p.m. CT in the first round of the Women's College World Series.
