Middle and high school credit classes will each be two minutes longer during the second semester. Bell schedules could be impacted. The district said they’ll email parents with any updates the week of Dec. 2. The County’s west side will still have Feb. 14 off for the Florida State Fair Day.

Hillsborough County to discuss allocating millions for storms

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough County Commissioners want to be as prepared as possible next time a major storm rolls through. Millions of dollars are expected to be discussed during the Wednesday morning meeting. There are numerous possibilities the county will be speaking on. The county is expected to allocate $60 million to remove all storm-related debris and $12 million to hire some of the highest-ranked engineering firms to help with stormwater.

The 2024 Presidential Election Day is on Tuesday, Nov. 5th. Early voting will begin on Monday, Oct. 21 for most Tampa Bay area residents. As of 4 a.m. on Thursday, 15,000 power outages were reported across the area, with the most in Seminole Heights. 8 On Your Side saw TECO crews show up to the area around N. Highland Ave and W. Idlewild Ave just past 8 a..m. where they were assessing damages and working on power poles.
