1. IntroductionThe karst region of southwest China holds one of the largest continuous karsts in the world, which is highly sensitive to the increasing climate variability and extreme climate events (Kharin et al., 2013; Seddon et al., 2016). Meanwhile, the increase in population expanded the demand for natural resources and caused a severe rocky desertification (Sweeting, 2012; Delang and Yuan, 2016).
