WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Bridge Community Health Clinic was the winner of the 2024 Impact100 $100,00 grant and they’re ready to put that money to good use. In three weeks, they’ll start construction to repurpose the original dental clinic and use the space to it’s full potential. That makes the first of it’s kind in the area to offer medical, dental, and behavioral services all in one building.

CONLEY COMMENTARY (WSAU) – As sure as I’m standing here, my public broadcasting friends will find a liberal judge who will issue a restraining order blocking their funding cuts. (Judicial pro-tip: the judge who issues such a ruling should not be seen coming or going from the courthouse carrying an NPR tote bag. It would be funny if the judge was asked if they listen to All Things Considered on their ride home.)What have we gotten for a government-funded public broadcasting news service?

CONLEY COMMENTARY (WSAU) – There were more anti-Trump protests over the weekend. A crowd of about 200 gathered in Wausau. The demonstration I saw was in Rhinelander on Saturday was smaller – about 100 people. (I was up there to leg Argos the Great Dane run loose in the big field at Nicolet College.)What I was surprised about was this: many of the demonstrators were carrying signs fortelling things that aren’t going to happen – or are bumper sticker slogans that are wildly inaccurate.

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Wausau West held a signing day for all of their seniors that are enlisting in the military after graduation. For the first time ever, the school is recognizing 6 of their students that will be taking the next steps in their career. Members from the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Navy all attended, to personally congratulate and award these students. Senior Sophia Neuman, was recognized as she committed to the U.S. Army.
