DOUGLAS COUNTY — It may not seem like it weather wise, but summer is coming and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will once again patrol Douglas County lakes. A resolution that supports the 2025 annual county boat and water safety grant contract with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources was approved at the Tuesday, April 15, Douglas County Board meeting.

ALEXANDRIA — Organizers of this year's Passion Drama at Zion Lutheran Church were pleased with the turnout and how the event went this year. There were more than 1,000 people who walked through the stations of Jesus' life at this year's Passion Drama, which took place on Psalm Sunday, April 13. Brett Ludwig, one of the Passion Drama organizers and a teacher at Zion Lutheran School, said the last time the drama was portrayed in its full form was in the spring of 2016.

Douglas Edward Anderson Sr., age 78, of Alexandria, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, February 27, 2025. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from noon to 5:00 PM at the Alexandria VFW Post #936, located at 1102 3rd Avenue East, Alexandria, Minnesota. His burial will take place at a later date following his return from the Anatomy Bequest Program. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
