It'll be so hot on June 21 that Summerfest is allowing fest-goers to bring in bottled water. The Milwaukee music festival, in the midst of the first of its three-weekend run, announced midafternoon on June 20 that attendees at Summerfest on June 21 will be allowed to bring in one factory-sealed plastic water bottle (20 ounces or less). The festival also reminded attendees that there are misting stations and water fountains all over Maier Festival Park.

Before Ed Gein gets another chance at the spotlight in Ryan Murphy's upcoming Netflix series, the Wisconsin serial killer will be the focus of another documentary project. Deadline.com reported June 16 that Hearst Networks EMEA, Spirit Studios and BossaNova are producing a two-part documentary series, "Ed Gein: Original Psycho." According to Deadline, the series will run on Crime+Investigation, a Hearst-owned true-crime platform with outlets in Europe.

In 1982, Mayor Henry Maier unveiled plans for a City of Festivals Parade, with a goal of making Milwaukee the Midwest's "parade city."The first parade, designed to replace the defunct Great Circus Parade, was held June 26, 1983. About 350,000 people came out to see it, despite scorching temperatures. The City of Festivals Parade lasted until 1993. After that, the parade was folded into Summerfest, with a daily event on the grounds during the 1994 Big Gig. That apparently was its swan song.

With Summerfest 2025 one week away, the lineup for the Milwaukee music festival continues to evolve. Summerfest disclosed on Facebook June 12 that hip-hop stalwarts Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, which had been scheduled to headline the festival's Aurora Pavilion at 7 p.m. June 19, has dropped out "due to health issues."The festival said that another hip-hop veteran, Bow Wow, will fill Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's spot on the Aurora stage.
