NEW ORLEANS, La. (WAFB) - Prominent Baton Rouge civil rights attorney Ron Haley was suspended by the Louisiana Supreme Court Wednesday. The one-page order states the interim suspension is “for Threat of Harm filed by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, and the response thereto filed by respondent.”Haley declined to comment today, but he told WAFB he will have more to say when he learns more about the details tied to the suspension.

HAMMOND, La. (WAFB) - The Hammond Police Department confirmed to the WAFB I-TEAM Friday that Brandon Ostarly, a Louisiana State Trooper (LSP), was issued a misdemeanor summons tied to a shoplifting investigation at Target on March 20th. Ostarly tendered his resignation earlier this week, according to a state official. The charge listed on the summons is theft by shoplifting, according to the Hammond Police Department.

(WAFB/Gray News) – A school administrator is facing a felony charge for allegedly forcing a 6-year-old student to clean up her own feces after the child had an accident caused by a dairy allergy. The alleged incident happened at Rollins Place Elementary School near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in January. Kristy Scott Gilpin turned herself into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail Monday morning. She was booked on a felony charge of cruelty to juveniles.
